SJC Stone Ridge area trail & Trabuco Creek Trail loop. 5 miles, Mod. Diff.
Details
We will be meeting at the Park and Ride lot #2 on Ranch Viejo Road in SJC. And will proceed to the Malaspina Trail, which borders the Marbella and Stone Ridge Estates. We will soon ascend 500 ft to the top and and take Stone Ridge Trail. Then take a brief moment to gaze at the stunning views! After that we will descend on Trabuco Creek Trail back to Rancho Viejo Road and proceed on foot under the freeway and continue on the same trail. We will do a short loop and return to the streets and back to our cars.
Note: there may be much exposure to direct sunlight so be prepared! Bring water, snacks and electrolytes. Wear sturdy hiking shoes and consider poles.
There is considerable elevation on dirt paths so be extra cautious of terrain conditions if bringing a dog.
***The only restrooms along the route are about 1/2 mile before the end, so prepare to investigate some protective shrubbery when needed. ;-) But note that there are a couple of gas/convenience store locations nearby that you can use just before the start of the hike.***

DIRECTIONS: 5 fwy and exit Junipero Serra. Both Park and Rides are just east of freeway. #2 will be on the southside of the street, right on the corner of Rancho Viejo Rd. and Junipero Serra. We will gather near the street at the P&R entrance. (Be sure to check the Google pin location - I don't have an actual address for the lot!)
