Harbor View Plaza @ Port Streets to Back Bay & back - intermediate diff 6+ miles
Details
This is an adventurous out-and-back walk/hike that is mostly urban but with periods on dirt.
We will be meeting at the Harbor View shopping Center, on San Miguel, in front of Rite Aid. We will walk across the street through the pathway that leads through Baywood Apartments and work ourselves over to Harbor View nature Park and then taking the trail through the greenbelt area of the port streets to Ford Road. From there we will connect to a dirt path that takes us over to Bonita Canyon's Arroyo Park. We will continue on some paths all the way to Back Bay. We will stop and explore the shoreline scenery there before heading back the way we came.
This is a relatively easy-intermediate difficulty walk, and is mostly on hard surfaces except for the dirt path going under Bonita Canyon road.
This is definitely dog friendly!
Bring plenty of water.
I would recommend poles but aren't absolutely necessary!
There are bathrooms along most of the way!

DIRECTIONS: There are a myriad of directions to get to the meetup place, Harborview Shopping Center. It is at the corner of San Joaquin Rd and San Miguel Rd. It might be easiest for most folks living inland just to exit the freeway at Macarthur and head west all the way to Newport's San Joaquin Rd. Turn left and head about a block south to the intersection of San Miguel and San Joaquin, where the shopping center is.
