Sunshine Social Hike 3/16: Sabino Lake 😁☀️

Let’s keep the March series of social hikes going at Sabino Canyon! We will be hiking the Sabino Lake, Creek Trail, Rattlesnake Trail and Esperero Trail Loop (say that five times fast…)

This trail is a 3.7 mile loop with 255 feet of elevation gain, all in the first mile or so, according to AllTrails and should take us around two hours and 15 minutes with time for pictures and breaks. It combines some beautiful trails around Sabino Canyon Recreation Center (which is unfortunately not dog friendly).

We will convene at the trailhead at 7:50am for introductions…let’s shoot to start hiking by 8:10. Finishing the hike around 10:30, we will get a count and head to breakfast (TBD)

Please bring water and sunscreen, hiking poles may be helpful with the incline in the first part. The weather forecast right now calls for mid 50 degrees at the start and mid 70 degrees by the time we finish, really excellent hiking conditions, starting to warm up a bit.

This is a great hike for beginners due to slight elevation. There is little to no shade on this hike and it will be warming up, please plan accordingly.

Parking available at the Sabino Canyon Recreation Center, passes can be purchased online, at the station on the way in, or at kiosks onsite.
