Sunshine Social Hike 6/8: Golden Gate 😁☀️

Let’s enjoy an early (and safe) warm summer social hike out near Old Tucson! We will be hiking the Golden Gate to Chaparral Loop.

The trail is a 3.0 mile loop with 203 feet of elevation according to AllTrails and should take us about an hour and 20 minutes with time for pictures and breaks. Desert scenery and neat rock features are plentiful out here, the goal is to enjoy a quick social hike before it gets too hot 👍🏻

Please note the earlier start time! All social hikes will start at 7:00 in the summer, with intros starting at 6:50am. We will be returning to the trailhead by 8:30 at the latest.

Please bring water and sunscreen, hiking poles may be helpful with some rocky parts. The weather forecast right now calls for 78 degrees at the start and 85 by the time we finish, very warm! This is not a dog friendly trail, sorry.

Parking at the trailhead is a little tight, there are two small parking lots either side of the street. After those dozen spots are taken, I recommend parking safely along Kinney Road.

Let’s head to Bisbee Breakfast Club on Ajo afterwards for brunch (10 minutes from trailhead), I’ll get a head count after the hike and we will meet there shortly before 9.
