Sunshine Social Hike 6/15: Sweetwater Preserve “Dads and Dogs” Hike 😁☀️🐶

Let’s enjoy a Father’s Day social hike at the always beautiful and dog-friendly Sweetwater Preserve! We will be hiking the Saguaro Vista, Spine and Desperado Loop.

The trail is a 2.7 mile loop with 206 feet of elevation according to AllTrails and should take us about an hour and 15 minutes with time for pictures and breaks. Since it’s Father’s Day, I’m also asking everyone to show up in socks and sandals, please…

(Just kidding 😂)

Please note the earlier start time! All social hikes will start at 7:00 in the summer, with intros starting at 6:50am. We will be returning to the trailhead by 8:30 at the latest.

Please bring water and sunscreen, hiking poles may be helpful with some rocky parts. The weather forecast right now calls for 80 degrees at the start and 85 by the time we finish, very warm! We can still enjoy a safe hike but make sure to stay hydrated and be prepared for the heat 🔥

Lots of parking available, please make sure you enter “Sweetwater Preserve” and not just “Sweetwater”.

After the hike, let’s enjoy some brunch at Seis Kitchen in the San Mercado Center…counter service and plenty of outdoor seating, we can just arrive with a big group 👍🏻
