Sunshine Social Hike 10/19: Sabino Canyon (Take Two)😁☀️

Let’s try this again! Rain cancelled last week’s social hike, so I’m putting it back on the schedule for this coming Sunday! 🗓️

Let’s enjoy a fun social hike at Sabino Canyon! We will be hiking the Sabino Walkway Loop (with an extra half mile addition).

This will be a 2.8 mile hike with around 200 feet of elevation gain and will take us about an hour and half to complete. The first quarter mile is a pretty stretch from the recreation center to the walkway trail, then there’s some great views and a little incline, finally we will go upstream a bit and cross over, finishing back on the paved tram road to the rec center.

Please note we are going back to 8am start time for social hikes! With a dip in the temperatures (still warm!), we can probably get away with starting at 8 from here on out.

We will be starting introductions at 8:00am. After 15 minutes or so of intros, we will begin hiking and return to the parking lot just before 9:30am (having taken our customary group picture at the halfway point, of course 😁)

Please bring water and sunscreen, hiking poles are not necessary unless for your comfort. Small elevation areas and hopefully some water crossing to be expected.

The weather forecast right now calls for 60 degrees at the start and 70 by the time we finish, absolutely perfect for hiking!This is, unfortunately, not a dog friendly trail.

Sabino Canyon charges a fee for parking, payable by app or in person.

Brunch afterward is TBA, if only there was a Sunshine Cafe close by (2026, maybe? 🤔) I’m thinking Bisbee Breakfast on Swan and Sunrise…
