Sunshine Adventure Hike 10/3: Tumamoc Hill 🥾☀️⛰️

Let’s enjoy the short and steep local favorite, Tumamoc Hill!

The trail is a 2.9 mile out and back, with a total of 721 feet of elevation according to AllTrails, very short and very steep! In the past, we have taken around an hour and a half for this hike.

As far as adventure hikes go, this one is more on the social side: kind of a social/adventure hybrid. More challenging than the typical social hike, shorter than the typical adventure hike. If you’re looking to make the leap from one to the other, this is the perfect hike to practice on!

As for all of our adventure hikes, we will be staying together as much as possible, but if things get challenging, please go at your own pace. Please be prepared to turn around and head back safely if that is the case.

We will convene at the trailhead at 6:50am for introductions and begin our hike at 7:00am. Expect to return to the parking lot by 8:30 if you stay with the main group.

There is no charge for parking, please be respectful of others when finding a spot near the hospital and trailhead.

Please bring water and sunscreen, hiking poles may be helpful but not necessary. This trail is paved.

The weather forecast right now calls for 62 degrees at the start and 68 degrees by the time we finish, great hiking weather! (This trail is completely exposed to the sun, just FYI)
