Sunshine Social Hike 11/9: Garwood Dam πŸ˜β˜€οΈ

Let’s enjoy a longer (4miles) social hike with gorgeous views on the Eastside at Garwood Dam! We will be hiking the Wild Horse to Garwood Dam trail.

This will be a 4.0 mile hike with around 334 feet of elevation gain and will take us about two hours to complete. On the longer side as far as social hikes go, this one is worth it with a crested saguaro and hopefully a little running water.

We will be starting introductions at 8:00am. After intros, we will begin hiking and return to the parking lot just before 10:30am (having taken our customary group picture at the halfway point, of course 😁)

Please bring water and sunscreen, hiking poles may be useful in the rocky parts. This trail is a little rocky in parts, and it’s very exposed, no shade.

The weather forecast right now calls for 63 degrees at the start and 73 by the time we finish, absolutely perfect for hiking! (Mostly exposed, so it will heat up with the sun, just FYi)
This is not a dog friendly trail, we may see some horses.

Parking available by the trailheads and along Speedway.

Brunch is TBA, will see what hikers suggest on that side of town and get a count after the hike if anyone is interested.

We will be taking pictures and posting them to our group Facebook page. Thank you for your consent to post by joining our hike.

Hope to see you out there 😎

Thanks,
