Sunshine Adventure Hike 1/15: Seven Falls (Take Two) ✌🏻☀️⛰️

Let’s enjoy a redemption hike through the water (but not too much water, haha)! We will be hiking the Bear Canyon to Seven Falls trail.

The trail is an 8.4mile out and back, with a total of 1069 feet of elevation according to AllTrails, a little climb but overall gradual.
As far as adventure hikes go, this one is unique in that Sabino has tons of running water!

In fact, the reason this is a “redemption hike” is because we tackled it on 1/8 after a full day of rain and the water was too rapid after three crossings! This time there’s no rain on the forecast for the week, though I do expect there to be some snow melt from Mount Lemmon. Be prepared for water crossings!

We will be taking breaks along the way. Last time we took just over four hours to complete the hike. This time it may take a little longer depending on the water.

As for all of our adventure hikes, we will be staying together as much as possible, but if things get challenging, please go at your own pace. Please be prepared to turn around and head back safely if that is the case.

We will convene at the trailhead at 6:55 for introductions and begin our hike at 7:00am. Expect to return to the parking lot between 11:00am and noon if you stay with the main group.

Sabino Canyon charges for a day pass if you don’t have the national parks pass, they can be purchased onsite.

Please bring water and sunscreen, hiking poles may be helpful for the rocky incline and decline.

The weather forecast right now calls for 50 degrees at the start and 63 degrees by the time we finish, slightly chilly! This hike is also relatively shaded on the Phoneline trail, I recommend layers. Water gear if you have it!
