Sunshine Social Hike 3/8: Gate’s Pass 7AM 😁☀️

Let’s enjoy a social hike with beautiful views out by Gate’s Pass! We will be hiking the Prickly Pear Gates Pass Loop

This will be an approximately 2.5 mile hike with around 200 feet of elevation gain and will take us just under an hour and half to complete. We start off by a cool rock formation and then enjoy the Golden Gate trail that goes parallel to the mountain. We return back and connect with Chapparell trail to get back to the trailhead.

We will be starting introductions at 7:00am. After intros, we will begin hiking and return to the parking lot just before 8:45am (having taken our customary group picture at the halfway point, of course 😁)

Please bring water and sunscreen, hiking poles may be useful in the rocky parts. This trail has a little incline and some rockiness for a social hike, and it is mostly exposed with no shade.

The weather forecast right now calls for 55 degrees at the start and 62 by the time we finish, warming up! I recommend shorts. This is not a dog friendly trail, unfortunately.

Parking available at the trailhead, if it’s full, please park safely along Gates Pass road. Please be very careful crossing the road, lots of blind spots!

No formal brunch this week, look for that to return in future Sundays (and check out Mojo on Grant and Campbell for some good food on the patio!)

This hike is slightly unique in that we descend from the start and all of the incline comes in the second half.
