Sunshine Social Hike 3/29: Painted Hills 9AM 😁☀️🎨

Let’s enjoy a social hike with some rocky incline, great views and a rock labyrinth out by Painted Hills! We will be hiking the Mosaic trail to Recoil Peak and back.

This will be an approximately 3.2 mile hike with around 300 feet of elevation gain and will take us just over an hour and a half to complete. We will hike out along the Mosaic trail and hit a little hill called Recoil Peak…that’s where there is a rock labyrinth and we will take our group picture. We head back the same way, enjoying beautiful views of Tucson Mountain Park.

We will be starting introductions at 9:00am. After intros, we will begin hiking and return to the parking lot just around 8:45am. Donuts in the parking lot for breakfast afterwards! 🍩

Please bring water and sunscreen, hiking poles may be useful in the rocky parts. This trail has a little incline and some rockiness for a social hike, and it is mostly exposed with no shade.

The weather forecast right now calls for 72 degrees at the start and 78 by the time we finish, warming up! I recommend shorts. (as of this writing, small chance of rain, heads up…)

Parking is available and free at Painted Hills trailhead, you can use the Meetup location or simply GPS the trailhead.

No formal brunch this week, I will be bringing donuts for everyone to enjoy after the hike 🍩
