Sunshine Adventure Hike 4/15: Golden Gate Peak 🥾☀️🌉

Let’s enjoy a short but challenging adventure hike in Tucson Mountain Park! We will be hiking the Golden Gate Summit via the Yetman Trail.

The trail is 2.4 miles out and back with around 2000 feet of elevation, taking us just under three hours. We start at the Yetman Trailhead just outside Gate’s Pass and make our way to the base of Golden Gate…steep and fun switchback scramble to the top, rewarded with amazing 360 views of the area!

We will be taking breaks along the way. As far as adventure hikes go, this one is “difficult minus” due to short distance with steep elevation.

As for all of our adventure hikes, we will be staying together as much as possible, but if things get challenging, please go at your own pace. Please be prepared to turn around and head back safely if that is the case.

We will convene at the trailhead at 7:55 for introductions and begin our hike at 8:00am. Expect to return to the parking lot shortly after noon.

Parking is free at the Yetman trailhead, first left pullout after Gates Pass heading west.

Please bring water and sunscreen, hiking poles may be helpful if you’re comfortable with them.

The weather forecast right now calls for 60 degrees at the start and 73 degrees by the time we finish, heating up! I recommend shorts. This hike is relatively exposed.

We will be taking pictures and posting them to our group Facebook page. Thank you for your consent to post by joining our hike 😎

Hope to see you out there!
