Sunshine Social Volunteer Event 10/17: Adopt-a-Road Cleanup 😁☀️🚮

Let’s make a difference in our community by adopting a stretch of road and having a cleaning party! 🎉

We have been given Silverbell between Sweetwater and Goret as our designated stretch of road. With gloves and trash bags and grabbers, we are going to clean up the roadside…after six months of cleanups our group gets a sign by our stretch of the road ☀️

This will be our first cleanup, let’s meet at 8am in the PACC parking lot and I will hand out supplies. Please see the attached handout from Tucson Clean and Beautiful, it’s got some good tips on what to wear and what to bring (shoes, gloves, that sort of thing)

Our cleaning zone is directly kitty-corner (see what I did there 😏) from PACC and that’s where we’ll start. Let’s see how far we can clean heading south towards Goret.

We wrap up our cleaning just before ten and anybody interested can get some brunch at Mojo afterwards, just ten minutes down the road.

Weather will be low 60s at the start and upper 60s to finish, quite nice. I recommend layers because the exertion may warm you up quickly.

My goal is to have this be a relaxed, fun, social atmosphere where we can put in a couple hours of effort and enjoy some dirt and sunshine. And if we’re consistent for half a year, we get to see our group name by the side of the road, that’s pretty cool. 😁
