All levels are welcome! We have both pro artists and first-time sketching members. My goal is to create a supportive art community to learn and practice.

Acrylic Painting for beginner and continuing students
Join me, professional artist Ania Salmina, for an acrylic painting course! You’ll learn essential techniques, explore the versatility of acrylics, and build confidence in your painting skills. As we create artwork, I’ll guide you through key topics such as composition, light and shadow, color theory, and more. We’ll begin with simple still lifes and gradually explore more complex subjects.

You will learn & practice to draw human forms (in clothes) from observation or reference with the medium of your choice. The class is open to all levels, from beginners to experienced participants. There are tutored sessions where I’ll lead students through the whole process. The lesson structure: warm-up, theoretical part, observation drawing with my supervision, the show - final discussions for the session and personal strategies. We’ll try many poses for one lesson. And you will be drawn multiple times as well! Make sure to double-check the location on the evening before the event, as it changes seasonally. All locations are in Downtown Vancouver.
By the way, we take photos to share on Social Media etc. Take a bunch!THINGS TO TAKE WITH YOU:
- Art supplies of your choice. The best option for the 1st lesson would be a pencil + eraser + sketchbook or paper on a sturdy surface (board/book).
