Hike at Trailhead #4 in Eldorado Preserve
Details
Eldorado has quite a lot of interesting spaces. Let's continue our explorations. This time: the far right (not political) trail.
Carpool info: We can CarPool at Albertson's Market at SE corner of West Zia Rd & St. Francis Dr. Park under the BIG sign closest to the intersection.
((( info only for drivers or if going separately: We'll then drive North on I-25, and get OFF at the 285 exit. BUT at Rt 285, turn left(!) going North. At the blinking light, turn RIGHT onto Old Las Vegas Highway toward Glorieta to the underpass under I-25 at Route NM-51 continue on 51, over the bridge across the Galisteo Creek, up the curvy hill to Trailhead #4.
Here there are 3 loop trails and 2 out-n-back trails.
Sat.'s hike Distance: +-2.75 mi. gross elevation: about 200' gain;
and, if anyone is interested we could also--with unanimous agreement at the TH4 , go to out & back trail on Tr 402, a flat mesa top, to Mesa overlook +- 1.5 miles out and back.
-------
For folks in Eldorado or S. of town, OK to meet at TH #4, BUT let us carpoolers know so we don't wait around :-)
The weather forecast for Saturday is Sunny, with a high near 65.
What to bring:
Sturdy hiking boots or shoes.
Bring layers, extra clothing, and water resistant outer wear.
Water for a 2+ hour hike, (a liter +).
Lunch or snacks (in case we/you get hungry or stuck, etc.)
Dogs: probably are OK here.
