For the month of September, we'll meet at one of Austin's nicest parks and our topic will be Accountability. All are welcome here to share and receive community support.

You do not need to bring anything but you might consider something to take notes on if it will help you. Please note that to protect everyone's privacy, no video/audio recording will be permitted in the session.

Attendance will be limited to ensure we have enough time to focus on all attendees. If you will be unable to make it, please kindly update your RSVP to free up your spot.

Ground Rules:
1. Keep an Open Mind: people come to the group with many backgrounds and perspectives; always start by assuming good faith and good intention in other participants.
2. Keep Discussions Respectful: avoid insulting, snarky, or sarcastic comments and/or body language directed toward other group members.

How to Find Us:
We will meet at Beverly S. Sheffield Northwest District Park. I'll arrive early to look for a nice shaded spot and will message attendees and post exact location shortly before the meeting.

How it Works:

  • After everyone arrives and settles in to the space and we have a chance to check in, I will open the meeting. I usually share a "theme" with a relevant quote, offering an idea to reflect on during the discussion. You are not required to stick to the theme; it's just there for your consideration.
  • Participants will take turns speaking as they feel called to. When it is your turn, you may take as much time as needed to share whatever it is you want to bring to the group that day, e.g., what goals you are working on, obstacles you are working through, recent successes, areas you could use particular support, etc. What and how much you choose to share is at your discretion.
  • The other group members (as they feel genuinely moved to) will offer you some kind of support - this could be encouragement, advice, an offer of help, etc. Back and forth discussion between you and other group members is encouraged; it's a dialogue. Feel free to call out anything that particularly resonates or note what you find most helpful.
  • Once you feel like you are sufficiently "nourished" by the conversation and have gotten something out of that day's meeting you can carry with you, you will indicate that you feel complete/ready to move on.
  • This repeats as each person takes turns sharing and receiving support (hence, an energy exchange), until everyone gets to go.
  • There is not a set time for how long this process can take so I try not to set strict end times for the meetings. If anyone has a time crunch they are encouraged to share earlier.
  • Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions!
