Rise Above is a supportive and inclusive LGBTQ+ group for those who have experienced religious trauma or discrimination. As part of Flaming for Jesus' Support Zone initiative, our goal is to provide a safe and affirming space for individuals to share their stories, find support, healing, and personal growth on their reconciliation and recovery journey. Facilitated by certified mental health professionals and LGBTQ+ advocates, Rise Above explores topics like deconstructing harmful beliefs, reclaiming personal spirituality, and developing healthy boundaries.

Members of Rise Above are individuals who have firsthand experience with religious trauma and are seeking progress in their healing journeys. This shared perspective allows for a deep level of empathy and understanding within the group, while providing opportunities to share your experiences, challenges, and triumphs, fostering personal growth, healing, hope, and resilience. Confidentiality is one of our top priorities, and members are expected to respect each other's privacy. Anonymity is upheld to create a safe space where you can openly discuss your thoughts and feelings without fear of exposure or judgment.
