St. Michael’s Community Conversations: Listening, Serving, and Growing Together

St. Michael’s Anglican Church in Hamilton is creating space for neighbours to gather, share, listen, and imagine new ways we can support one another in these challenging times.

In August 2024, St. Michael’s launched a community fridge and pantry to help support those facing food insecurity. That ministry continues to remind us that the church’s role must go beyond regular Sunday services. We believe we are called to be present in our neighbourhood in practical, compassionate, and meaningful ways.

This Meetup group is for anyone in the local community who wants to be part of an open and honest conversation about the challenges people are facing and the kind of support that would truly make a difference. We want to hear from neighbours, families, seniors, newcomers, students, workers, caregivers, and anyone who cares about building a stronger, more connected community.

Our goal is to host regular gatherings where people can share their experiences, concerns, ideas, and hopes. Together, we will explore questions such as:

How can St. Michael’s better serve our local community?
What are the biggest challenges people are facing right now?
Where are the gaps in support?
What kinds of programs, partnerships, or practical help would allow people to thrive?
How can we build deeper relationships across our neighbourhood?

You do not need to be a member of St. Michael’s, attend church, or identify with any faith tradition to take part. All are welcome. This is a space for respectful conversation, community connection, and shared action.

At St. Michael’s, we believe that listening is an act of love, and that meaningful service begins by hearing from the people around us. We hope you will join us as we learn together how to be better neighbours and build a more caring, hopeful, and resilient Hamilton community.
