Welcome to the SurrealDB AI Challenge 2026 — an innovation challenge focused on building intelligent AI applications with memory, context, and knowledge-aware reasoning using SurrealDB.

## Challenge Theme

### Build an AI Agent with Memory

Participants are invited to create next-generation AI applications using SurrealDB as the memory and knowledge layer for AI agents and RAG systems.

## Challenge Tracks

### 1. Personal Assistant That Remembers You

Build an AI assistant or chatbot that can persist user context across sessions using semantic memory, conversation history, and relationship-aware data structures.

### 2. Graph-Aware RAG System

Develop a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) application that uses graph relationships for smarter and more contextual retrieval beyond traditional vector similarity search.

### 3. Open Innovation Category

Build something creative that demonstrates capabilities beyond a vector database alone using SurrealDB’s multi-model architecture.
