🗣️Lester March is a Cloud & AI Solution Engineer at Microsoft and will deliberately break an Azure-hosted custom web application and use Azure SRE Agent to investigate and remediate the incident in a live demonstration. While the agent works, we will explore how Azure SRE Agent is configured: the Azure resources it can access, the knowledge and instructions it has been given, and the controls that shape how it responds. We will then review the incident response to see what the agent discovered, how it reasoned about the failure, and what action it took to restore the service.
The session focuses on the practical experience of using an AI-assisted site reliability agent rather than presenting an idealised architecture. You will see the complete journey from service failure to investigation and recovery, including how the quality of the agent's configuration affects the usefulness of its response.
By the end of the session you will understand:
- How Azure SRE Agent can support incident investigation and remediation
- What needs to be configured before an agent can work effectively
- How permissions, operational knowledge, instructions, skills, and tools shape an agents behaviour
- Where human oversight fits into AI-assisted operations
- What to consider before introducing an SRE agent into your environment
