Black Down and The Temple of the Winds (7.4 miles)

Details
This Strenuous walk follows part of the Serpent Trail in North West Sussex which is a long-distance route within the South Downs National Park, from Haslemere to Petersfield.
Starting at the NT car park at the end of Tennyson’s Lane, we will cross Black Down and then enjoy the view of the three counties at The Temple of the Winds.
We will then walk South West along the edge of the escarpment to Scouting Lane End, then turn north to Cotchet Farm and Black Dog Copse. After walking through Chase Warren we will climb Haste Hill, then turn south east to return to the car park.
A number of steep ascents, plus a very small section of road walking, and some walking along very quiet lanes.
Poles and sturdy boots are recommended.
Further details can be found on the Surrey Heath Ramblers program page https://www.ramblers.org.uk/find-a-walk.aspx?layer=walks&tab=walks&group=SR15
This walk is also advertised on the Surrey Heath Ramblers web site (www.surreyheathramblers.org.uk) so there will be more walkers attending than is shown on Meetup. Typically we walk with between 15 and 25 people.
Our walks start promptly and it is recommended that you arrive 15 minutes early to get booted ready for the walk.
If you are unable to attend please remove yourself from the event and text the walk leader so that they are aware that you won't be attending.
As a non member of Ramblers you can attend 3 walks to try us out, after that you are required to join the Ramblers to continue walking with us.
This walk will be led by Greg who can be contacted on 07908 517270.
