Starting at Rowhill Nature Reserve, we will follow part of the Blackwater Valley path through the copse out into Weybourne, then proceed along pavements to Brickfields Park before weaving our way to Manor Park. Here we will visit the WW2 memorial of Christ, The Heroes Shrine, the sunken garden, the Peace Garden and walk past the former Manor of Aldershot. Walking past the beacon, we'll skirt the duck pond before leaving Manor Park, walking through streets to reach the Municipal Gardens passing the war memorial. We'll then walk through the historic Cargate area back to Rowhill Copse.
Muddy paths in Rowhill Copse so wear boots and bring poles for slippery areas. No stiles, two short inclines, 10 steps, rest on tarmac paths and pavements. Toilets available in Manor Park (about half way on walk). Parking at Rowhill Nature Reserve carpark is tight so please car share where possible, or park in local streets such as Cranmore Gardens.

Further details can be found on the Surrey Heath Ramblers program page https://www.ramblers.org.uk/find-a-walk.aspx?layer=walks&tab=walks&group=SR15

This walk is also advertised on the Surrey Heath Ramblers web site (www.surreyheathramblers.org.uk) so there will be more walkers attending than is shown on Meetup. Typically we walk with between 15 and 25 people.
Our walks start promptly and it is recommended that you arrive 15 minutes early to get booted ready for the walk.
If you are unable to attend please remove yourself from the event and text the walk leader so that they are aware that you won't be attending.
As a non member of Ramblers you can attend 3 walks to try us out, after that you are required to join the Ramblers to continue walking with us.
This walk will be led by Hazel who can be contacted on 07565 533286.
