Alice Holt Forest (6.5 miles)
Details
Starting at the Car Park on Gravel Hill Road we make our way along the Shipwrights Way past the Research Station along well maintained footpaths and several forest trails.
There will be a short break at the Visitors Centre where there are toilet facilities and a café before heading round the Willow’s Green Enclosure back to the car park via Rowledge and the Holt Pound Enclosure.
The forest path are generally pretty good but are muddy in a few places. There are no stiles and a few gentle hills nothing too challenging. We will need to cross the A325 twice which can be busy.
Further details can be found on the Surrey Heath Ramblers program page https://www.ramblers.org.uk/find-a-walk.aspx?layer=walks&tab=walks&group=SR15
This walk is also advertised on the Surrey Heath Ramblers web site (www.surreyheathramblers.org.uk) so there will be more walkers attending than is shown on Meetup. Typically we walk with between 15 and 25 people.
Our walks start promptly and it is recommended that you arrive 15 minutes early to get booted ready for the walk.
If you are unable to attend please remove yourself from the event and text the walk leader so that they are aware that you won't be attending.
As a non member of Ramblers you can attend 3 walks to try us out, after that you are required to join the Ramblers to continue walking with us.
This walk will be led by Sean who can be contacted on 07748 766558.
