Autumn Photography Walk : Wagonner's Wells
Details
The Event
A short photography walk around a beautiful hidden location just South of Hindhead, and only 10 minutes from the A3.
This area features three small connected ponds, with other ponds nearby.
The ponds contain carp up to 20lbs which can often be seen as well as herons and cormorants.
In Autumn the footpaths turn golden with leaves , and mist forms on the lakes when it's cold.
The area is well known for fungii, and Autumn is the perfect time of year to vist and photograph the different varieties. Take a macro lens if you have one.
For those of you that went to our event here in 2022, we will be going to a couple of different locations.
History
The original name of the series of ponds was Wakeners' Wells. They were created in the 17th century by the Hooke family of Bramshott. They were possibly originally intended as hammer ponds to serve the local iron industry, but were never used for that purpose.
