About us
The Rhythm & Blues Club is a friendly live music community for people who love blues, rhythm & blues, soul, roots, funk, jazz and related music.
We run a monthly live music night (usually the third Friday of the month) at Soper Hall in Caterham — an intimate, atmospheric venue with a fully licensed bar and a warm welcome for regulars and newcomers alike.
Over the past 8 years the club has built a reputation for great live acts, a relaxed atmosphere and an inclusive crowd. Some people come to dance, others come to sit and listen — either way, it’s all about enjoying quality live music in good company.
Solo visitors are always welcome, and many members first came along on their own before becoming regulars.
The club operates on a not-for-profit basis, helping us keep ticket prices affordable while putting as much support as possible back into the musicians.
While blues sits at the heart of what we do, our musical tastes are broad. Expect anything from classic Chicago blues and vintage R&B through to soul, funk, blues-rock, roots, jazz, Latin and Americana influences.
We’re also keen to hear from musicians, volunteers and anyone interested in helping live grassroots music continue to thrive locally.
