This first meetup will be an open conversation for surveyors who are interested in becoming independent or starting their own business.
Whether you’re completely new to the idea or already working toward it, you’re welcome here.
We’ll talk about:
• Where and how surveyors find their first clients
• What types of work are realistic when you’re just starting out
• What skills or tools you actually need (and what you don’t)
• How people transition from employment to working for themselves
• Common mistakes beginners make — and how to avoid them
• Real stories, real numbers, real experiences from the field
This is NOT a formal seminar — it’s a friendly, practical discussion.
Bring a notebook, your ideas, your questions, and an open mind.
Goal of this meetup:
To connect surveyors at different stages of their careers and share real-world knowledge that can help all of us move closer to independence, higher income, and building something of our own.
Everyone is welcome — Geomatics Technicians, party chiefs, engineers, new grads, experienced professionals, and anyone curious about entrepreneurship in surveying.
