What we’re about
Providing a safe space for individuals who have experienced trauma and abuse, struggles, doubts, or conflicts related to their religious beliefs. Members share their stories, offer encouragement, and provide emotional support to one another. The group may discuss topics such as coping strategies, managing relationships with family and friends, finding a sense of community outside of religion, and exploring personal beliefs and values. The goal is to provide mutual understanding, validation, and empowerment for those navigating their journey beyond religion.
Support Group Guidelines
- We will be discussing one topic during each meeting.
- We will be using a timer to do three minute shares. You can share as many times as you would like.
- If possible and if there is time I would like to do introductions for new participants.
- Participants may come and go as needed in order to take care of themselves during the meetings.
- Please make sure that you take care of yourself during triggers. Have grounding tools or a drink with you at all times.
- Please remember that anything said during group is the opinion of the speaker and it is not directed at any one participant.
- Please know that anytime someone will say something that is triggering to your own system. Please use your tools to take care of yourself.
- Please turn your camera on at least once or twice during the meeting or when you're speaking, if possible.
- We also do not require anyone to share during the meeting. You can share as much or as little as you would like.
