We're back for our last meet up of the year!

For this meetup we're pleased to announce that Sussex Azure member John Craddock will be presenting a session on Azure AD's Verified IDs service and the future of identity.

Microsoft is heavily investing in their Azure AD Verified IDs service; could this be the future of identity? How many times have you been asked to prove your identity to different organisations? You may have had to provide copies of a passport, a bank statement, a utility bill or appear in person. How would it be if you could prove who you are once and then use that proof across multiple service providers?

Welcome to the world of Verified IDs (also called Verified Credentials VCs). In this session, John Craddock will introduce you to Verified IDs and show you how to issue your own using the Azure AD Verifiable Credentials service. Join the session and kick-start your journey into the world of Microsoft Entra Verified IDs.

After John has introduced you to the world of Verifiable Credential, it will be your chance to shine! We’ll break into teams and brain storm how VCs can be used for your organization/community. We’ll then vote for the best solution.

John has designed and implemented computing systems ranging from high-speed industrial controllers to distributed IT systems focusing on security and high availability. A key player in many IT projects for industry leaders including Microsoft, the UK Government and multi-nationals that require optimized IT systems. A specialist in identity systems for the last 20 years with a particular focus on federated identities to provide authentication and authorization solutions that seamlessly transition across digital boundaries. Developed technical training courses that have been published worldwide, co-authored a highly successful book on Microsoft Active Directory Internals, and regularly presents at major international conferences, including Microsoft Ignite and European summits. John also teaches his internationally acclaimed Microsoft Identity Masterclass.
