Being able to identify and know the uses of our native plants and trees is an interesting and useful skill to have if you spend time in the countryside. It is also essential if you are foraging plants for food or medicinal uses.

This session will look at the identification and uses of some of the more common and easily recognisable trees and plants in season at this time of year NB This course will not cover foraging for mushrooms. We will also cover foraging law and good practice. We will be walking through our wood and along local footpaths so you will need appropriate footwear and wet weather clothing. You might also like to bring along suitable bags if you wish to collect samples and a notepad and pen. We will finish off the session preparing and eating some of our finds.

The day will consist of a foraging walk to identify edible and non edible fruits and roots. Uses (including wines and spirit infusions) and preparation of the fruits of the morning foraging.

This session will take place in our 21 acre dedicated site near Horsham.

All of our team are all qualified Bushcraft instructors, first aid trained and have our own unique skills.

Please bring your own lunch and snacks. We will provide tea and coffee.

Due to the nature of the day and the activities, the session is open to anyone over 14, but those under 18 must be accompanied by a paying adult (ratio of 2 children to 1 adult) who will be responsible for supervising the children throughout the day.

If required, we will provide knives for your use, so please do NOT bring your own.
