What we’re about

About Us:
Sustainability in IT is a developer-focused community dedicated to embedding eco-friendly practices early in the software development lifecycle. Just as Shift Left principles improve security and quality, we apply them to sustainable IT, ensuring greener choices from the start. Shift Left Green is our Mantra
Our Mission:
As AI-driven development accelerates, our mission grows:
We focus on optimizing AI workloads for energy efficiency, minimizing the carbon footprint of machine learning models, and using AI itself to enable smarter, more sustainable software practices.
We empower developers, architects, and IT professionals to build solutions that are not only intelligent and scalable—but also low-carbon, energy-efficient, and environmentally responsible.
Through our community, we explore practical, actionable strategies to reduce IT’s environmental impact without compromising performance.

Our First Event on Saturday was a milestone moment for me — the very first event of our Sustainability in IT meetup group.
What started as a small thought slowly took shape, and it was truly inspiring to see speakers and attendees — all passionate about driving sustainability in IT — come together, share their experiences, and learn from each other.
At one point, I couldn’t help but feel it was a missed opportunity for those who had registered but couldn’t make it — so much valuable knowledge, insights, and perspectives were exchanged that could have added tremendous value to anyone on this journey.
Small-scale conferences like these create a common platform — no matter where you are on your sustainability journey — to engage, learn, and grow together.
A heartfelt thank you to all the speakers and attendees who made this first step so special. 🙏
Looking forward to seeing even more like-minded professionals join us in future sessions!
