Short Run Prop Painting

Let’s do some painting together!

This free, public drop-in event is part of Short Run, Seattle’s independent comix fest. This is a great opportunity to mingle with our international guest artists and each other in a chill, crafty environment before the Thursday evening Short Run Showcase at Vermillion.

We will be painting plywood standees (think those big character cut-outs) designed by Indonesian guest artists Danang Catur and Yudha Sandy. These decorations are a fixture at the festival Danang and Sandy co-organize, Yogyakarta Komik Weeks, and they’re quick and fun to make together. Materials will be provided.

Drop in any time from 1 to 6pm on Thursday, October 30 at the Capitol Hill Tool Library. Be sure to see the comics reading showcase right afterwards at Vermillion.

Short Run Comix Fest will be on Saturday, 11/1 at the Seattle Design Center, Georgetown. All events are free. This event is brought to you by local cartoonists Rod Driver and Kelly Froh, with financial support from Seattle City of Literature.
