2023 Thames Path - walk, jog or run to support a charity of your choice!

Details

Want to join me for this challenge? I have decided to run 28km in one day and support the 1001fontaines' charity (or a charity of your choice) on the 9th of September as part of the 2023 Thames Path. And you can still apply !

Why 1001fontaines?
Just because we still count 1 in 3 people in the world without access to safe drinking water... while actually it should be a given right to everyone on this planet! I came across this initiative through 2 ladies highly engaged in this NGO, Aude and Chrystele, few years back. They spoke at one of our events about their work and especially the achievement of the NGO in South East Asian region and Madagascar. 1001fontaines is more than only giving access to safe drinking water to people, it improves people's health, gives children better educational opportunities, empowers women by freeing them from the chore of fetching water and offering them local jobs, reduces the carbon footprint... and is gradually lifting entire villages out of poverty.

So what?
I have set myself a target of min. 250£ in donations to 1001fontaines and I will need your help to achieve this. Not only it is the first time I will actually walk such a distance... but foremost, this is how it can help...

  • £2 = 1 year of safe drinking water for 1 pupil in Cambodia
  • £1,000 = 1 year of safe drinking water for 1 school in Cambodia

Chrystele is actually much braver than me and will walk 50km! So please do not hesitate to support her too.

And if you join this, please do let me know!!! It would be wonderful to walk together (I will run the second part Hampton to Runnymede).
