Green Devs & Creative #42
Details
Why is it so hot today?🔥 As our demand for data grows, so does electricity use. This powers more servers and data centres, resulting in more CO₂ emissions.
In Hokkaido, where I'm from, a new data centre and semiconductor factory are being built, a nuclear power plant has restarted, and some companies are clearing forests to build massive solar farms.
So what can we do from our own desks?
The answer is simple: use your brains, rely less on Gen AI, write cleaner code, and minimise data use💡
