This month's meeting will focus at how genders are presented in Japanese media - what kind of messages and assumptions are conveyed through images, videos, texts, commercials, package labels, etc. Are these messages and images different from the ones in western media? If so, how and what this difference indicates? What are the social, cultural, and emotional impacts on the individual and the community? How relationships can be influenced by these assumptions in the media?
These are some of the possible inquiries we can draw from the topic.
