Rabun Bald - 2nd Highest Peak in GA - 8 miles moderate

Let's Take-a-Hike to GA's 2nd tallest peak - Rabun Bald!

We will hike about 8 miles along the Bartrum Trail to Rabun Bald. This is a beautiful trail with little bridges over streams and an amazing 360 view of the mountains at the top! The elevation gain is about 1850 ft so this is not a beginners hike. If you've hiked with me previously - this is our typical hike. We will maintain a pace of about 2.25 - 2.5 mph.

We will meet at the trailhead and begin our hike at 10:00am. The trailhead can be found at the following coordinates: 34.996078, -83.281695. Or use the directions in the AllTrails link. There is a small pull off at the trailhead for parking. Also, the trail is on a gravel road but very easy to navigate in a small vehicle.

Please make sure to bring plenty of water and snacks. We will stop at the top for a lunch/snack break and to enjoy the views.
