Hike Inn/AT Approach Trail Loop

Let's take-a-hike to the Hike Inn aka it’s all downhill from here! 😂

The Hike Inn Loop is a moderately challenging hike (NOT a beginners hike) so be prepared for roots, rocks and lots of hills. We will start the hike at the top of Amicalola Falls. If you have never been to Amicalola, then you might want to build in some time to visit the Falls.

We will start our hiking journey on the Hike Inn trail and stop at the Inn for lunch. There is lemonade, water and tea available. Sometimes, the Hike Inn has snacks available for a cash donation so bring some $. We will head back to Amicalola via the AT approach trail. Total hike distance is about 10 miles. We will maintain a hiking pace of about 2-2.5 miles per hour. Bring plenty of water (you can fill up at the Hike Inn), snacks, and lunch.

There is a $5 parking fee as Amicalola State Park unless you have a state park annual pass.

Meeting location: When you enter Amicalola State Park, turn left at the Visitors Center. Follow the signs to the Hike Inn. There will be two parking lots at the top of the Falls - a lower lot and an upper lot. We will meet at the upper parking lot by the bathrooms. If these two lots are full, there is parking at the Lodge and hike down to the meeting spot.
