Settles Bridge Park Loop– ~ 5 Mi - Suwanee, GA – Moderate
Details
Let's Take-a-Hike at Settles Bridge park and knock out another CRNRA Section. If you complete all 66 miles of trails in the Chattahoochee National Park Conservancy, then you get a patch! Here is a link to the challenge: https://www.chattahoocheeparks.org/hikecrnra. There is no map for this section so there will be some exploring once we get close to the river.
Distance: Approximately 5 miles
Difficulty: Moderate
Group Pace: 2.5 – 3 MPH
Parking Fee: Free
Dogs Welcome: Yes
This 5 or so mile loop trail is over mostly soft surface and gravel walkway runs through the woods, has a few areas with some respectable elevation gain, and hugs the Hooch for a short distance. We will also add an out and back spur to see the bridge itself …or at least the part of it left that nature hasn't reclaimed.
Parking is plentiful and … free. And free is always a nice feature. 😊
Let’s meet outside the restrooms as we can pick up the trail from there as well. Using the pin map provided in the event listing with google maps will guide your vehicle and you to the right spot.
The hike will start at 10:00am and I figure it will take us about 2.5 hours with a short rest break or two along the way. The pace will vary from 2.5 – 3 mph. I do like to and will start events on time so please do not be late for the consideration of all attendees.
Below are some helpful links. But please note the trial link is not the exact path that we will follow. Of course and as always, if you have any questions in advance, please let me know and I will do my best to answer them.
