Let's Take-a-Hike around Providence Canyon State Park!

Providence Canyon is known as "Georgia's Little Grand Canyon." The canyons were formed by poor farming practices vs natural erosion. The park is located down 85 and south of Columbus, GA.

We will hike the Backcountry Trail Loop (about 7 miles) and then the Canyons Trail (about 2 miles) where we will explore the canyon floor. Both of these hikes are easy but will cover almost 9 miles.

We will meet in front of the Visitor's Center at 10am. The parking fee is $10 unless you have the annual Georgia Parks Pass.

Please bring plenty of water and snacks. We will find a spot along the trail to stop and eat. The canyon floor can get muddy so be prepared to get your shoes dirty.

Now for the disclaimers: please remember that you will be particpating at your own risk as Suwanee Take-a-Hikers assumes absolutely no liability (nada, zilch, zip, jack squat) for adverse events which may occur during meetups.
