TALK 01 - How I built Pro-search with SvelteKit by Bhekani Khumalo

Bhekani spent most evenings of the past few months building Pro-search, an easy to use advanced query builder for search engines, with SvelteKit.

He really fell in love with Svelte when he tried it out last year. So, when he started working on Pro-search, he decided to use SvelteKit and see how it fares in the real world despite him being much more familiar with React.

This was also a way of fast tracking his learning and exposing himself to all the nooks that come with SvelteKit and Svelte in general. In this talk, he will cover:

1. His reasons for choosing SvelteKit.
2. The issues he encountered in the process
3. How he solved or worked around the issues
4. What he loves so far
5. Whether he will or will not be using SvelteKit again in the future for anything serious

Bhekani is a Software Engineer at Anaplan.

TALK 02 - Building Dashboards with Svelte by Jay Smith

Jay is a developer, legal engineer and Head of Legal Operations at a law firm. He is self taught and learning Svelte has given him the ability to build more complex applications. They needed to build a dashboard to display their metrics and get insights and they picked SvelteKit.

In the talk Jay will cover:

• Why they chose SvelteKit for this project
• Loading data from an API
• Sharing state between components
• Some nice Svelte plugins from the ecosystem
• Implementing and re-rendering charts with Chart.js
• Auth0 integration

Jay is a Legal Engineer and Head of Legal Operations.
