This Meetup introduces prospective riders to the SWAMP mtb club, a community of off-road cycling enthusiasts of all skill levels and experience, sharing in the fun and excitement of mountain biking. We promote and advance our sport by uniting riders in a social environment that fosters camaraderie and the ability to improve our skills thru information sharing.
In the social arena, Swamp hosts 5-6 weekly rides rotating thru five local bike parks. Additionally, we offer twice monthly urban assaults, and out-of- state vacation trips. We have 25 years experience in having fun on a bike, so check out our web site - swampmtbclub.com

Swamp Bike Adventure to Brevard NC
August 3-8, 2025Swamp’s next trip will be to Brevard NC, to ride DuPont, Pisgah, Bent Creek and the Kanuga Mountain Bike Park. Brevard is small and friendly with inexpensive restaurants and a large selection of pubs, many with evening entertainment.
Swamp will provide suggestions for trails, restaurants, and micro-breweries, but you will need to make your own lodging arrangements. You can camp, choose a motel, or rent a VRBO or AirB&B to share with friends. There are dozens of rentals within walking distance of downtown, and the Davidson Campground has bike access to town. There are hotels from several of the major chains, and plenty of smaller mom & pop units that reflect the local vibe.
But most importantly; the trails. DuPont has 86 miles of single track and five major waterfalls, Pisgah has over 100 miles of trail, and Bent Creek has thirty miles. There will be group rides that you can join each day, or, you can load up TrailForks and explore on your own. From experience, trails are very well marked and there are facilities at major trailheads. (FYI- no eBikes in Dupont, Bent Creek or Pisgah)
On a typical day, it will be breakfast wherever you are staying, perhaps lunch on the trail or in town, and then we get together for dinner. After rides, we have a lodge where we can gather to socialize and recount the days adventure.
You can choose arrival and departure dates that work for you, but the schedule is Aug 3-8, a Sun-Fri. To attend, you must be a current Swamp Club member and for insurance purposes, we will need a signed waiver, which you can do online.
