Embers of the East

A 3-week community solidarity circle for SWANA Queers.

The world is burning — but we are not helpless. We are powerful. We heal through each other. 🤎

Join us to share, process, mourn, and resist together — transforming grief into connection, resilience, and care. 🌿

🗓 Dates: 27 Nov | 4 Dec | 11 Dec

🕡 Time: 6:30 – 9:00 PM

📍 Location: Advocacy Academy, Brixton

🧠 Lead Facilitator: Dr Mehdi Alemohammad
Registered & Chartered Psychologist | EMDR & Schema Therapist

🧠 Co-Facilitator: Yanar from Mind & Movement
Registered Yoga Therapist

💬 Grief and rage of this scale often require more than one single session to be connected with and processed in a contained way. For this reason, we strongly recommend trying your best to attend all three sessions.

⚠️ We will provide tea, coffee, and water, so please bring any snack you might need or would like to share. Brixton market is one minute away from the venue, and there will be a 15-minute break in the middle of each session.

💌 This is a private event for the SWANA Queers.

🔗 We hope you can make the full series or drop in to the ones you can. This is a ticketed event please ensure to book via the website: Book Here

🍂 Each session is ticketed at £5 per individual to encourage intentional attendance and to minimise cancellations, ensuring spaces can be offered to others who wish to attend. All proceeds will go to Mutual Aid Sudan Coalition, which provides direct and flexible funding to local groups addressing Sudan's humanitarian crisis.

Voluntary contributions and donations are also welcomed.
