The Four Waterfalls Walk (Ystradfellte) 🌊🥾
Details
The famous Four Waterfalls Walk! We will be visiting four distinct, massive waterfalls in the heart of the Brecon Beacons.
The Plan: Starting from Cwm Porth, we’ll follow the forest trails to visit all four falls. The highlight is Sgwd yr Eira, where you can actually walk behind the waterfall! After the loop, we’ll head to the pub for a drink.
Details:
- Distance: ~5.5 miles.
- Duration: ~3 to 4 hours.
- Footwear: Hiking boots are essential. The trails and steps down to the water are very slippery and often muddy.
- Meeting Point: Cwm Porth Car Park (CF44 9JF).
- Parking: £6.00 per car (Card/Contactless). I recommend arriving by 9:45am as this car park fills up fast!
- Car Sharing: If you have space in your car or would like a lift, please comment below. This helps save on fuel and that £6 parking fee!
What to Bring:
- Packed Lunch: We will find a scenic spot by one of the falls to eat, so please bring a lunch and plenty of water.
- Raincoat: Even if it’s sunny, bring a waterproof jacket. The spray from the waterfalls will get you wet, especially if you walk behind Sgwd yr Eira!
Post-Hike Social: We’ll finish at The New Inn, Ystradfellte. It’s a nice traditional pub, perfect for a chat before we head home.
