People's Fest 2026

People's Fest is a one-day celebration of people's struggles that shaped our world — from the factory floors of a century ago to the digital spaces of today. Every weekend off, every eight-hour workday, every right we take for granted has roots in ordinary people standing up for dignity.

Today, a new frontier of freedom has emerged: our digital lives. Just as workers once reclaimed their time and labor, users everywhere are reclaiming control over their technology — choosing free and open-source software over the locked, proprietary "old regime."

This November 7, we celebrate both stories — through art, theatre, talks, and hands-on tech — as a shared human journey toward self-determination. A celebration of agency: over our work, our time, and our machines.

Highlights
🎭 Cultural Performances — Skits, songs, and poetry on toil, technology, and hope, in Telugu, Hindi, and English
🎨 Poster & Art Corner — Express what freedom — at work or on your machine — means to you
🖥️ Liberation Station — Bring your laptop, leave with free software. Volunteers will help you install GNU/Linux and open-source alternatives to everyday proprietary tools
🎤 Talks — Short sessions on the history of labor rights and the story of the free software movement: how communities built an entire digital commons outside corporate control
