October Romance Book Discussion Club
Details
Please join us for our October Romance Book Discussion Club. Location is my new place in Dupont! I'll update the address closer to the event.
Our selections for this next month are: *Seasonal/Spooky* and *Reverse Harem/Why Choose/Poly* - Exciting stuff for fall! As always, you are not required to read anything in these categories, they're just opportunities for us to share in themes of reading and explore new books/authors. Additionally, we'll be adding a "Best of the Best" category this month, so please think through all the books you've read and would title "Most Yearning"! We'll do other best of best books (like best tension/best book boyfriend/girlfriend) in future months. This is a book you've read at any point in the past but sticks with you as the best representation of yearning in a book. Hopefully we'll all get some new recommendations when we share!
Looking forward to discussing romance books with everyone :)

Hi Ladies! I had a free moment and I wanted to share some suggestions for our themes - I recommend Juliette Cross's Stay a Spell series. It's PNR, but has shifters/witches/vampires etc. Each book follows a sister in a large family of witches. It's light, sorta contemporary in feel and solid writing. They are interconnected standalones, so they don't need to be read in order. For fantasy romance readers, I recently read Anathema by Keri Lake and it was definitely atmospheric and dark, so it could fit the spooky season brief. Morbidly Yours by Ivy Fairbanks is a contemp romance that takes place in Ireland and the MMC is an undertaker. Not really spooky, but has a macabre touch. Go Hex Yourself by Jessica Clare is also PNR contemp-feeling rom com that I recall enjoying a few years ago. Feels a bit like the tv show Bewitched in that it's not dark and more rom com. I don't read a ton of why choose/RH, so I don't have a lot of recs there, but feel free to add some below in the comments if you have some suggestions!
