Software development is evolving, perhaps faster than ever, with new tools reshaping the way we think about code, data, and productivity.
At this meetup, we’ll explore two areas. The latest in building .NET appications and the latest trends in AI-powered coding assistants.
First, Chris Klug will take us beyond the basics with .NET Aspire. Instead of another introductory demo, this session digs into what really happens under the hood, showing how you can tweak Aspire to fit your needs. You’ll also learn how to build custom extensions—creating your own resources and commands to support projects that aren’t covered out of the box.
Then, Andreas Wänqvist will take us through The State of AI Coding , examining how AI is changing the way we write and reason about code. From low-code platforms to professional developer copilots and emerging agentic systems, we’ll explore the current landscape of AI in software development and discuss how to put these tools to work effectively.

Session 1 - Chris Klug
.NET Aspire Beyond the Introduction
You have probably already seen a bunch of introductions to .NET Aspire. Maybe to the point where it is getting a bit boring, even if it is cool!
In this talk, we will take it a step further and look into some more advanced topics around .NET Aspire. The things that takes it from a cool demo, to a really helpful tool for you development.
The focus of the talk, is to cover what is really happening when you use it. Knowledge that lets you know how to tweak it to your need, when you needs aren't covered out of the box.
It will also cover how you can build your own extensions to Aspire, to allow you to use it for your custom applications, or projects that aren't already supported by the community. Things like creating your own .NET Aspire resources and custom commands.
Session 2 - Andreas Wänqvist
The State of AI Coding Tools: From Low-Code to Autonomous Agents
AI-powered development tools have evolved rapidly from simple code completion to autonomous coding agents. This session examines the current landscape of AI coding assistance across different skill levels and use cases.
We'll explore the spectrum of available tools, from low-code platforms like Loveable that enable non-developers to build applications, to professional coding assistants like GitHub Copilot that augment experienced developers. The talk covers the emerging category of agentic tools, including Copilot's agent mode for autonomous task completion, as well as command-line agents like Claude Code and Gemini CLI, which handle complex development workflows.
We'll also examine cloud-based coding agents, such as Codex, and their capabilities for larger-scale development tasks. Through practical examples and evaluation criteria, attendees will learn how to select appropriate tools for their team's skill level and project requirements.
The session concludes with guidance on implementation strategies, common pitfalls, and realistic expectations for AI-assisted development in professional environments.
