After a long summer break, hopefully filled with relaxation and sun, we are excited to invite you back for an inspiring event to kick off the upcoming autumn term. We warmly welcome you to an evening at the Active Solution office for an event tailored for software development enthusiasts like yourself.

We have a fun evening planned with two sessions and of course some snacks and drinks in between to keep our spirits high! On stage we will have Robert Folkesson, Microsoft Regional Director and senior developer and Alan Smith, AI MVP and Senior developer.

SESSION: Inside GPT – The Maths Behind the Magic
Natural language processing using generative pre-trained transformers (GPT) algorithms is a rapidly evolving field that offers many opportunities and challenges for application developers. But what is a generative pre-trained transformer, and how does it work? How can you leverage the latest advances in GPT algorithms to create engaging and useful applications? Can my business benefit from creating a GPT powered chatbot?
In this demo intensive session Alan will take a deep dive into the architecture of GPT algorithms and the inner workings of ChatGPT. The journey will begin by looking at the fundamental concepts of natural language processing, such as word embedding, vectorization and tokenization. He will then demonstrate how you can apply these techniques to train a GPT2 model that can generate song lyrics, showing the internals of how word sequences are predicted. Alan will then shift the focus to larger language models, such as ChatGPT and GPT4, demonstrating their power, capabilities, and limitations. The use of hyperparameters such as temperature and frequency penalty will be explained and their effect on the generated output demonstrated.

SESSION: Responsible AI: How to use the services and API:s in Azure to help secure your AI-solutions
Generative AI has great potential but also comes with significant challenges. One of the biggest risks is "hallucinations," where AI models generate incorrect or misleading information. Additionally, issues around copyright and various types of attacks—where users intentionally try to manipulate AI—can be problematic.

In this session, Robert Folkesson, will share and demo practical examples how to use the services and API:s in Azure AI Studio to tackle these challenges, leverage best practices and ensure responsible AI development.
