Boca Ciega Millennium Park to Clearwater Beach (31 miles r/t) & More!

Let's get up early and beat the heat! Traffic will be light at this time of the day and you will be there in no time!

07:30 AM: Let's meet at the far end of the Boca Ciega Millennium Park. The address of the parking lot is 7001 - 7061 125th St, Seminole 33772

THE RIDE: We will pedal through Boca Ciega Millennium Park and ride the Pinellas Trail north until we are close to Walsingham Park. After a short but very enjoyable diversion, we continue heading north until we reach John S. Taylor Park. From there we take a longer stretch along the Pinellas Trail towards the Memorial Causeway Bike Trail. However, before we cross the Clearwater Bay over the very steep and long bridge, we will explore Coachman Park with its fairly new music venue "The BayCare Sound". From there we will head to Clearwater Beach and have an early, well-earned lunch at Crabby's Seafood Bar & Grill.

On our return we will take a slightly different route and visit the Heritage Museum, a Living History Museum & Park, as well as the neighboring Botanical Garden. We will finish our ride with a look from the Observation Tower in Boca Ciega Millennium Park that offers fantastic views of its surroundings.

Total distance will be 31 miles r/t. Speed will be 10 to 12 mph. We will ride on paved roads, sidewalks and trails so all bikes will be fine. During our ride we will make several stops to hydrate and for sightseeing. Please be aware that you will have to cross a long and very steep bridge twice!

This will be a social event and no race! If you are in a hurry, this event is not for you. The ride and our lunch might take longer than expected, please don't schedule anything right after the event.

Make sure you carry plenty of water (ideally with electrolytes) and protect yourself from the sun. A snack might be a good idea. Also check your bikes before the ride and bring along a bike lock, you will need it.
