The Bridge Is Finally Open! Let's Celebrate! 18 Miles R/T. 10-12 MPH

Yahoo! It's open. No more dodge ball with the cars! The Bee Ridge overpass is now passable! Biked over it this morning( Tuesday). Still doing the final touches but traffic is now routed up the overpass! The cars are as excited as the bikers. No more red traffic light while waiting for those pesky bikers to cross Bee Ridge. Many cars are stopping at the pub just east of the overpass to drink a few in celebration. We will do our regular bike ride from the McIntosh parking lot to the 5-O Donut shop and back. But this time we can bike over Bee Ridge and watch all the happy vehicles down below. The overpass isn't as steep or long as the others. I didn't even have to change gears! We will take a break at the donut shop to celebrate. First round is on me. Donuts, coffee, cold juices! Bring the usual water, sun block , bug repellent, helmet, bells and whistles. We will meet at the McIntosh Rd. parking lot.
