Casual bike ride (24 miles) & FREE visit to SAM (Sarasota Art Museum)

Details
Those who stay in the area year-round need some exercise even during the hotter months😅. That's why we will combine the arts with a bike ride.
There is free parking (in the shade) at the public parking garage on 2150 Ringling Boulevard right next to Payne Park.
We will meet at the northern end of Payne Park (where the restrooms are) shortly before 07:30 AM and ride our bikes on the Legacy Trail all the way to the Historic Train Depot in Venice. Along the way we will make several stops to hydrate, please bring lots of water, you will need it. Speed will be 10 - 12 mph, the entire ride should take around 4 hours, depending on the length of the breaks.
Once we will be back at Payne Park, we can get back to the car and change cloths if necessary. We will then drive over to SAM which is less than 5 minutes away. The museum opens at 11:00 AM. October 12th is the second Sunday of the month, so they won't charge the usual $15 entrance fee, means the museum is free!
An easy going self-guided tour through the museum will give us plenty of time to cool down in an air-conditioned environment. And of course, we get to see the latest art exhibitions. After about an hour or so, we will end the event.
This will be a social event and no race. However, we still want to get a little bit of exercise, so you must be able to ride 34 miles at a speed of 10 - 12 mph .
Make sure you wear sunscreen, check your bike before the ride and bring along plenty of water. Please don't schedule anything right after as the ride or the museum visit might take longer than expected and we don't want to rush it.
As always, if you have questions or need directions, you can contact us at (917)774-0941.
