This one is for Keith, who might not be fully recovered from shoulder surgery by then.

Join us for a special day at Fort de Soto Park! This event will be a bike & hike combined with a picnic at the beach and a Supermoon!

Let's meet on 6th Ave S in Tierra Verde shortly before 01:30 PM, there is plenty of free parking along the road. Please leave enough time to get there! Traffic should be reasonable during this part of the day but you never know.

01:30 PM: We will ride on a bike trail to East Beach. Distance will be 5.4 miles. Once there, we will enjoy the view of the Skyway Bridge (see event picture above).

02:15 PM: We will continue with our bike ride on a trail to Fort de Soto Beach. Distance will be 5.1 miles. Along the way we will stop at the pier and the Fort for sightseeing, maybe even get some ice cream, who knows?

03:30 PM: We will hike along the most beautiful stretch of the beach until we hit the spot where the water cut through. After some exploring and potential seashell hunting we head back to our bikes.

05:00 PM: We will have a picnic on the beach while sunset watching. Feel free to walk around if you like, the beach is awesome. You might even want to get your feet wet or go for a swim. The sun will set at 05:43 PM.

Around the same time the moon will rise. November’s full "Beaver" Moon orbits closer to Earth than any of the other full Moons this year, making it one of the three Supermoons of 2025! For those who care, at its nearest point, it will only be 221,817 miles (356,980 kilometers) miles from Earth.

Why the “Beaver” Moon? According to the Almanac, this is the time of year when beavers begin to take shelter in their lodges, having laid up sufficient food stores for the long winter ahead. During the fur trade in North America, it was also the season to trap beavers for their thick, winter-ready pelts.

06:15 PM: We will ride back to the meeting point. Distance will be 7.6 miles.
On the way we should be able to enjoy the full moon's bright light. We should be back by around 07:15 PM, so you won't be home late at night.

Please don't forget your bike lights, bike locks, a picnic with drinks and sun protection. Also check your bikes before the ride.

As always, if you have questions or need directions, feel free to contact us at (917)774-0941.
